It’s like the Taliban always said, “You might have the watches, but we have the time.”

lol true.
but can you really have time?
I personally don't think time can be an asset, "I have time" is the same as "I have nothing" because as the saying goes, time and tide wait for none. It's purpose is to bind the notions of the beginning and the end - owning it would be disrupting the system by biasing it. But since, that doesn't happen so, it is a blatant lie to own time. I think we should discuss this in ~spirituality , I'll pull up the Gita there :)

lol well the notion is who will give up first haha. Maybe that’s more spiritual than time based tho?

yeah, that goes too.
whether the beginning ends first or the end begins first, decides the fate of time too.
There is 'shlok' in Sanskrit - which is said to be the direct translation of the language of the creator, or the language of the elements. It speaks
॥ अंतः अस्ति प्रारंभः ॥
Which means, end is the new beginning. When time runs its full circle, it will always result in a new age rather than complete destruction.
