For a total noob starting from zero, yes, this is the expensive and complicated way.

Also keep in mind that now Zeus integrate a cashu wallet in the embedded node, so easily can accumulate in cashu and once you have a decent amount migrate to a proper LN channel (I will update the guide with this latest option).
