Duolingo will “gradually stop using contractors to do work that AI can handle,” according to an all-hands email sent by co-founder and CEO Luis von Ahn announcing that the company will be “AI-first.” The email was posted on Duolingo’s LinkedIn account.
I can very well imagine that LLMs fit well in the kind of content creation required by Duolingo...
I think this decision won't affect them at all. After all, people are literally using ChatGPT as their language tutor and even mentors. Smart move on their part.
Von Ahn is a pretty resourceful guy, he's been making a lot of good decisions for his company indeed.
I think after this AI revolution, so many companies are being resourceful now because they're not sure what the future holds for them. Chegg is still recovering, I guess, because students found ChatGPT more reliable. But I really find Doulingo's business cool.
I still don’t pay for their max product!!
This is very sad.
I hope this is a fame news.
The thing is that AI is gradually taking over every industry and I think this actually calls for concern so as to maintain equilibrium between the human labour force and Artificial intelligence.
