Today there is a street market in Santa Cruz, California. It’s mostly local artists selling pottery etc. About half of them accepts Bictoin/Lightning. I let the kids to pick one thing they want but it needs to be paid in Bitcoin so they were running around asking “do you accept Bitcoin?”. I paid five things total, used Phoenix, Strike, Muun and all worked flawlessly, no issues. The UI could be improved but none of the sellers had any issues with it. If you are around SC today, go check it out, its at 828 N Branciforte Avenue.

That's amazing. I didn't realize there is a bitcoin community there. It had a real hippie vibe when I was last there, maybe 10 years ago. Is this a new trend in the area?

There are at least two Bitcoin meetups and a couple of Bitcoin companies. Nothing huge, but the town is actually pretty small so I think it could easily become a Bitcoin city!

Please keep us updated on your observations. I think I took my daughter to an amusement park right near the water. If I am not mistaken there was a craft fair there too. (After all, it is California 😀)

It's interesting. Santa Cruz looks like a wasteland on BTC Map. I guess it's just the artist community?
