Comparing Bitcoin to an A-10 is a little unfortunate. The A-10 was built for a problem that never materialized (needing to shoot columns of soviet tanks), they damage themselves when used (A-10's often come back warped after shooting), and they act as little more than a morale booster for ground troops.
