Natalie Brunell had comedian T.J. Miller known for Silicon Valley on her show Coin Stories. I was kinda surprised. Not sure why but I recognized his voice because that's my brain I can forget a face but never a voice.
Here's a short clip if you want a taste of his appearance.
So what person that has fame also secretly is a bitcoiner. Not has the ETF or whatever but actually gets it and has for a while.
I think this is pretty widely believed that Mark Zuckerburg is a bitcoiner so that would be the person I'd list. No clue beyond that. There has to be quite a few well known people that also get bitcoin and just don't talk about it.
SO, who do you think is in the club?

When CJ Wilson did his AMA here on SN he said there are a number of former and current MLB players that are bitcoiners but he wouldn't say who.

Jay Z and Kendrick Lamar, both close to Jack Dorsey. Found it hard to believe that neither of them wouldn’t have big bags

I believe Henry Cavil is one. Soon he will reveal this in an interview and then he will star in a movie or series as Satoshi.

I'm not sure but hasn't he said he hold bitcoin? But... he doesn't talk about it much. Seems like he might have eluded to it when Adam Curry was on in the past.
reply
Yet for some reason he never seems to have prominent Bitcoiners on his podcast.
I don’t think he’s ever had e.g. Saylor or Saifedean. He had Antonopoulos years back though.

I think almost all of the bilionaires/millionaires are holding, especialy the "popular rich people" like Bezos, Gates, Buffet and so on.
reply
I'm not convinced that many do but some for sure. Who knows. I suspect most of the billionaire class have people that make those decisions IE, they aren't bitcoiners. Their money managers are.

Many nations.
reply
nations can't be bitcoiners... a nation is a bunch of people.
reply
That's true. Nation's are the people group. I think @ken means states/governments.
reply

That's right.
reply
states/govs is even worse... A gov can't manage a BTC wallet. It comes the question: for WHO they manage that wallet?
  • for the CORPORATION government?
  • for gov members?
Then why rest of the people have to pay for that wallet if they do not use it? It is kind of moronic to think that a gov will manage a BTC wallet.
Bitcoin is for individuals not for governments.
reply
'Im sick of all this statism.'
Then go live somewhere there is no functional government...
Oh but wait- you won't do that because in reality you are as much dependent upon the state for your wealth and security as everyone else!
Actions speak louder than words...
reply
You argue about interesting things. It doesn't matter...
reply
I am not arguing. I am raising important questions that NOBODY ask. I am sick of all this statism...
Libertarians struggle to understand that the wealth of nations is largely dependent upon their governments.
That is why a nation might operate a Bitcoin wallet.

Do you really think nations care about how some citizens feel about them holding bitcoin? You don't think they will do anything to stay alive? To preserve power?
Just seems a bit naive.
reply
To be clear with words. Here's the definitions I follow
Nations = people group Country = land State = government.
Governments claim to represent their nation (citizens if you will) and when the trust the people have that this is happen weakens the state fails. I agree with you. The state and its actors care about maintaining power at the base. In reality they don't care what the plebs think beyond losing trust in them.
Yep, I suspect small nations are secret holders. I do not suspect any major powers are doing much other than holding what they have stolen.
reply
I suspect Gavin Newsom has a nice-sized bag.
reply
Interesting. Why do you suspect that?
reply
Being a governor from a part of California which is very tech heavy, and he's always been low-key an astute business person.
BTW, I don't think he necessarily is a Bitcoiner in the sense that he's running around using zaps to pay for things, but I do think he was an early believer of it as an asset.

In the AMA, I asked @chrisliss how many athletes are secret bitcoiners and he said "hundreds".
I suspect we could basically pick a prominent athlete and they likely have some bitcoin.

That's cool and when I think about it unsurprising.

All politicians, they know what they are doing to debase the money 💰 and they not only know that bitcoin is the saviour but also but their kypronite.
reply
You give them too much credit. These aren't the best people on most metrics. I have known and been around politicians. Some are as you say but I would say few hold bitcoin or even understand the monitary system. You have listened to them haven't you? They aren't sending their best. They seek power through being demogogary. They aren't finacial wizards. If they were they would not go into politics. They could make much more money on Wallstreet.

Bribes and kickbacks are better when received in Bitcoin.
Corrupt and smart politicians know this.

I honestly do not think about it, that is, I do not try to guess who will have Bitcoin or not.
I assume that among these famous people and with access to capital, there must be some awake and that they are in secret stacking. So I try to stack as much as I can from the precariousness of my financial situation. Because I know that this will not be cheap and there is not enough for all humans.
We need to stack more before all rich and famous between with their capital.
