Natalie Brunell had comedian T.J. Miller known for Silicon Valley on her show Coin Stories. I was kinda surprised. Not sure why but I recognized his voice because that's my brain I can forget a face but never a voice.
Here's a short clip if you want a taste of his appearance.
So what person that has fame also secretly is a bitcoiner. Not has the ETF or whatever but actually gets it and has for a while.
I think this is pretty widely believed that Mark Zuckerburg is a bitcoiner so that would be the person I'd list. No clue beyond that. There has to be quite a few well known people that also get bitcoin and just don't talk about it.
SO, who do you think is in the club?
I believe Henry Cavil is one. Soon he will reveal this in an interview and then he will star in a movie or series as Satoshi.

Many nations.
reply
nations can't be bitcoiners... a nation is a bunch of people.
reply
That's true. Nation's are the people group. I think @ken means states/governments.

That's right.
reply
states/govs is even worse... A gov can't manage a BTC wallet. It comes the question: for WHO they manage that wallet?
  • for the CORPORATION government?
  • for gov members?
Then why rest of the people have to pay for that wallet if they do not use it? It is kind of moronic to think that a gov will manage a BTC wallet.
Bitcoin is for individuals not for governments.

You argue about interesting things. It doesn't matter...

I am not arguing. I am raising important questions that NOBODY ask. I am sick of all this statism...
'Im sick of all this statism.'
Then go live somewhere there is no functional government...
Oh but wait- you won't do that because in reality you are as much dependent upon the state for your wealth and security as everyone else!
Actions speak louder than words...
reply
Libertarians struggle to understand that the wealth of nations is largely dependent upon their governments.
That is why a nation might operate a Bitcoin wallet.

Do you really think nations care about how some citizens feel about them holding bitcoin? You don't think they will do anything to stay alive? To preserve power?
Just seems a bit naive.
reply
To be clear with words. Here's the definitions I follow
Nations = people group Country = land State = government.
Governments claim to represent their nation (citizens if you will) and when the trust the people have that this is happen weakens the state fails. I agree with you. The state and its actors care about maintaining power at the base. In reality they don't care what the plebs think beyond losing trust in them.
Yep, I suspect small nations are secret holders. I do not suspect any major powers are doing much other than holding what they have stolen.

Interesting. Why do you suspect that?

Being a governor from a part of California which is very tech heavy, and he's always been low-key an astute business person.
BTW, I don't think he necessarily is a Bitcoiner in the sense that he's running around using zaps to pay for things, but I do think he was an early believer of it as an asset.

When CJ Wilson did his AMA here on SN he said there are a number of former and current MLB players that are bitcoiners but he wouldn't say who.
reply
Everyone says Peter Schiff
reply
Yeah, 100% but he's not really famous enough to qualify. Only nerds know him. Also he's already fringe but I like it.
reply
Klaus Schwab
reply
Ha, I doubt it.
reply
In the AMA, I asked @chrisliss how many athletes are secret bitcoiners and he said "hundreds".
I suspect we could basically pick a prominent athlete and they likely have some bitcoin.
reply
That's cool and when I think about it unsurprising.

Doesn't count. If they are shitcoiners they don't count. I mean I think he's open about bitcoin anyway.
