There is definitely a throw away culture in the west. My mom wanted to buy a new stove because the handle was loose. She said "I can't use it like that". I tightened two screws and it was fine. Haha
Yes, I think India is the most passive country to the throw away culture. I remember how my great grandmother used to make bowls with paper and mud. I even saw her using old plastic brushes needle thread into petticoats.
We (my generation) also don't like throwing things.
