You should probably do something more like crouch in a position where you'll roll backwards on impact and keep your chin tucked into your chest to avoid head impact.
I think the problem with the idea in the video is that it ignores the ability of using springiness in your muscles and posture to absorb and disperse impact force over time, as well as over space.
