so if bitcoin goes to 0, that's also just a distraction?
I expect eventually we will do 0 trades of bitcoin for dollars because dollars will be worthless. I don't really understand your argument. If the bitcoin protocol breaks I don't even know that we could say it has a value of "0 dollars", and if the bitcoin protocol doesn't break, how could it possibly "go to 0" if there are psychopaths like myself happy to buy all 21 million at some stupidly low price

You said price is a distraction. I gave you an arbitrary number of the price and asked if you would still think it's just a distraction. I didn't say anything about the protocol breaking or not or if that number is realistic.
Afaict, you're dodging the question. But I am fine rephrasing the question to this if that helps you:
If the price goes down by 80%, is that also just a distraction?

My general interest in bitcoin is revolutionary, but acquisition of bitcoin does has a relationship to the dollar cost of some things, perhaps at least bitcoin. If the price of bitcoin dropped 80% and I knew about it I would definitely be compelled to acquire more bitcoin which would certainly be distracting...
