The Labrador Retriever or simply Labrador is a British breed of retriever gun dog. It was developed in the United Kingdom from St. John's water dogs imported from the colony of Newfoundland.

Labradors are good tempered, very agile and are often considered a better choice for first-time dog owners due to their friendlier nature and easier training unlike their counterpart, The German Shepherds which are a better fit for experienced owners who can provide consistent training and socialisation.
