How do cowboy credits work? I just linked my node but havent been on SN in a little while. Been on primal and came back to cowboy credits and I feel like I missed to much. is there a tutorial anywhere?

And do you mean with "linked your node" you attached a wallet?

If you connected your node you're all set. Same as always. You will give and get sats. Even if you lose your node connection it isn't much different. It has happened to me a few times. You get ccs, but just wait a little while and they will almost all turn into sats credits as rewards. Then you can either manually withdraw the sats, or they will automatically be sent to your node connected wallet when it is reconnected.
