apparently the youngest person to get a chess rating on record was 3 yo. i don't intend to make him a grandmaster or anything - i think it's a good educational tool in order to lean how to think ahead. i have been eyeing chess sets that look cool, made of minerals.

I usually play chess with my daughter (6yrs old) a couple times a week. She is getting pretty good. She needs a little help strategizing how to finish out the game but she enjoys it and is learning a lot.
