Not a good start to be honest...
This is what happens when you have anarcho-tyranny. You get a population fed up and begging for a strong man to come in and fix it. Get the bad guys. The liberal US establishing (both parties) have a lot of the blame for this. I'm not convinced that the so called "fascist" in power is worse than what they had before. And I bet he's very popular.
Its hard for me to take people seriously when they write like this. Where do any of the so-called democratic leaders get their authority? It really seems like a double standard to me. They will say "rule of law" but that's pretty weak too. Point me to a government that doesn't have corrupt politicians. I'm repeating myself now.
It just seems like people that don't live in this country have a lot of opinions about it. If people of the US wanna help countries like this they would as the US gov to decriminalize drugs and stay out of the affairs of other countries. The US democratically elected governments are largely responsible for the mess.
And to Darth's question:
Paolo Ardoino visited the US after Trump was installed. Clearly a tide has changed. Its really obvious. If you are Tether you have to play these games with the states. They aren't in bitcoin.
edit:
This is how governments work and have always worked. If you are a big elite or company you have to bribe your way into favor. Even more so if there are other elites against you as there are with crypto. Nothing special. Its not a conspiracy. Its how the system works. Its why Microsoft started lobbying after Bill Gates went for years without donating to politics (going back in time here before most of you were born). If you operate in the statist world(corporations and banks) you have to play their games. If you don't, someone else will and they will destroy you. This is why the billionaires are supporting Trump. Its self preservation.
The people screaming about it are either just dishonest or naive. This isn't new. Its just that they don't like this crew of people. The MIC and Pharma bros all own DC and many countries. Its just a war of elites.
As Carlin said. Its a small club and you ain't in it.
@DarthCoin I know you don't co-sign this blog post. You're not a statist but clearly this dude is.
I hear a lot of bitcoin influencers acting as if "we've won". Its honestly kinda pathetic. I think its mostly inexperience with the state. When there's an admin that isn't trying to throw you directly in jail it seems like wining. Its not. Trump is about Trump. Not bitcoin. He's surrounded by crypto bros and fiat maxis. He's a fiat maxi. It could be worse, don't get me wrong but bitcoin isn't gonna win by elections and politicians. It will win by adoption by plebs. Public acceptance is the path. The politicians will start claiming to be for it as Trump has. This is just to curry favor and get votes.
People get confused. They often think the government creates changes when many times it is just taking credit for things the people are doing already. Our everyday choices matter far more than we realize. Not saying government action means nothing. Just saying do not forget how much power people collectively have to affect change.

For those that can't detect nuance. I'm not pro any politician. Sometimes they might do something less bad or more good than another. I just hate the double standard I see when Trump does something that is not different from what was done before. Just something people don't like.
They are all like crime families. The only way to win is not play. Don't be on a team. Work towards a better future with bitcoin as the base money for that future. Notice Trump and his crew still don't "get it". They are just talking about bitcoin in fiat framings. At least they aren't hostile to it like the previous admin but they sure aren't bitcoiners IMO.

There are so many things we don't know about tether & bukele and all the politics behind.
People are blindly fall for all this crap without asking more questions.
Yes the guy that wrote this is not a real freedom lover, but it touched some points that I didn't know about.
Thanks for the summary
