According to Elliptic, the funds were laundered through darknet markets like Hydra and privacy-focused Wasabi wallet.
Nice validation of Wasabi doing its job.

It's not clear from the article, but if Elliptic was able to follow the funds even through wasabi, then that would be argument against wasabi.
