Bitcoin Takes Root in Fornelli, Italy!
In a remarkable move towards digital currency adoption, the charming Italian town of Fornelli, home to just 2,000 residents, has embraced Bitcoin like never before! Thanks to the passion of local enthusiast Mattia Pannoni, nearly all merchants in this quaint community are now accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment. From the supermarket to the bakery, barber, car mechanic, bars, restaurants, B&Bs, and even the flower shop. Twenty merchants in total are on board. Fornelli boasts more Bitcoin-accepting businesses than the bustling city of Naples, which has a population of over 1 million!
While Fornelli may not be a well-known tourist hotspot, it offers a unique glimpse into authentic Italian life, blending tradition with modernity. This small town is setting a big example for others, showcasing how communities can adapt to the digital age.
So, whether you're a local or just passing through, don’t forget to bring your Bitcoin wallet and experience the future of payments in Fornelli!

a bit misleading those screenshots. Is about the zoom not focused enough. But I get your point, is true, in US people love to use VISA and apple pay. And buy MSTR crap...
A single example here among us: the work of opago team https://stacker.news/OPAGO_PAY/posts Just look how many small merchants are accepting BTC. I love their dedication to go and talk and convince every single small merchant in town... is a damn hard work.

If we have to wait to convince all the merchants... especially in places like the US where the majority of 'merchants' are large franchises and big companies....
We will be dead we will run out of time.
At least Europe has some real communities that appreciate Bitcoin - Lugano, Prague maybe a few others so there's a smattering in small cities. In the US and Canada people use "the dollar" and they have generally no idea what's going on outside of their state or immediate bubble.
There's no "need" to use anything else, so people don't I guess.

As I said many times here: US will be the last place on this planet that will fully embrace BTC. Why?
  • because people are "in love" with their USD, they can't think outside of using anything else that is not USD, no matter how much (if) they hate it. Everybody else will dump it for BTC or other things (if they are dumb), but slowly nobody will use anymore any USD (in any shape or form of stablecraps). US will be literally like Venezuela throwing on the street loads of worthless paper money.
  • because no matter how much they scream about being a "free country" will always be slaves going to vote, make petitions, pay taxes... and even create "bitcoin policy" to kiss more politicians ass... LOL
cowards. simply cowards, here depicted in a very simple meme.

Where there's no merchant accepting Bitcoin, anyone true Bitcoiner can orange-pill some, or become the first merchant to accept Bitcoin in his/her area. No excuses.

This is the kind of city I want to visit before I die. Accepting bitcoin is an addition to its charm.
reply
Wrong. Don't go to visit a place just because you can pay with Bitcoin. Make it happen in your local community.
reply
No, you're the one who didn't understand. Accepting Bitcoin adds to the charm. The reason was what I said at the beginning, visiting a land like this, with beautiful architecture, beautiful landscapes, in Italy and il buon cibo.
