"Numbers contain (or count) in their symbolism the history of the evolution of consciousness. To decipher them, one must consider that:
-Horizontal lines are a sign of attachment. -Curves are a sign of love. -Crosses are a sign of crossroads or trials.
So, we get:
1 – The mineral. A vertical line. No horizontal line, so no attachment. No curve, so no love. The stone is tied to nothing and loves nothing. No cross, so no trial. We are at the beginning of the adventure of matter. Just inert matter.
2 – The plant. Life begins. The horizontal line at the bottom means the plant is attached to the ground. It cannot move, fixed to the earth by its root. The upper curve signifies the love it has for the sky, the sun, the light. It is connected to the earth, loving the sky.
3 – The animal. Two curves. It loves the sky, it loves the earth, it is fixed neither to the sky nor to the earth. In fact, the animal is the mouth that kisses and the mouth that bites. It is pure emotion. It lives only in fear and desire. Without attachment.
4 – The human. The intersection. The crossroads between the animal (3) and the higher phase, which is:
5 – The conscious human. It’s the inverse of 2. A bar at the top means it is connected to the sky, a curve below shows it loves the earth. It floats and observes humanity with distance to understand and love it.
6 – The angel. A curve of love spiraling upwards towards the sky. It is pure spirituality.
7 – The apprentice god. A cross. Another intersection. The inverse of 4. The apprentice god is the crossroads between the angel and the next level above."
Bernard Werber stops here in his analysis of the shape of numbers in his encyclopedia. But with his explanation, we can imagine the rest:
8 – Being Love. Only a curve, so only love. An infinite love that circulates from the sky to the earth, and from the earth to the sky continuously.
9 – Being Creator. The inverse of 6, a curve of love descending towards the earth. It is pure creator."
