Russia always has tons of casualties. That's how they wage war. They conquered the bulk of the territory very quickly and now Trump is pressuring everyone to make peace and recognize this new reality. I don't see the SOL scenario for Russia, but I feel like I've been hearing about how badly Russia's losing since the beginning. It rings hollow.
You can keep maintaining that Iraq had an elite military, but it's still ridiculous and people knew at the time that it was a ridiculous claim. Sometimes you had to live through an event to really know the truth of it. Iraq was never a military match for any of US, Russia, China, UK, Israel, and plenty of others who could have scaled up their military force very quickly if they had to.
China wasn’t a play at all in the 90’s? Iraq was focused on Iran and before that Israel was told to not do anything because the US would handle it. Russia admitted to having military trainers in Iraq during this conflict sooo I guess the UK is what was left and they joined the coalition and deployed the SAS?
I’m also not some 20 year old like I think y’all think I am 😂 I know my stuff and I’m sadly/for better or worse immersed in it 24/7 now.
The truth of the matter was Russia was training Iraq during the invasion of Kuwait. Scuds were a solid missile and thankfully since they only attached Israel at night and Israel construction was so good casualties there were minimized. When Iraq launched them in Saudi Arabia… well of the 147 killed I. Action 28 died due to an attack. Hence Delta Squad and the SAS insertion.
You keep saying people thought it was a ridiculous claim but the historical evidence says otherwise.

I’m not talking about who was involved in the conflict. I’m saying that all of those nations, and more, had greater military capability than Iraq.
In our terms, the Iraq military was fiat. They were all glamour muscles. Whatever analogy you like, many countries would have been harder to conquer at the time.
Edit: I always assumed you were 30, based on your nym. I also don’t mean to imply that most people thought the claim was ridiculous, just that there were people mocking it at the time (and they seem to have been more righter than the official position).
