What do you think, stackers?
(They don't play real D&D with all the rules and everything... basically just an AI-generated choose-your-own-adventure)
That sounds awesome, actually. I used to play that sort of open-ended verbal RPG with a childhood friend.
As long as it doesn't go all Elsagate...

Yeah at first I was a bit uncomfortable with it, but then I asked myself how is it different from me playing these text-based adventures growing up, or just video games in general. As long as it's in moderation it should be fine.

It’s different in being relatively unconstrained.

I actually just tried it myself. It's not bad, pretty fun. I actually laughed. But it pretty much lets you get away with whatever you want, so not something to play if you want a challenge.

Sounds pretty fun to me.

Don't blame the young lad cos playing D&D with ChatGPT can open up a whole new world of possibilities—whether you’re a brand‑new player, a solo adventurer, or a seasoned group looking to shake things up. Here are some of the top reasons to give it a try:
  1. Always‑on Dungeon Master ChatGPT never sleeps—so you can dive into a one‑shot at 3 a.m. or pick up your ongoing campaign whenever you’ve got time, without wrangling schedules.
  2. Instant World‑Building Need a spooky castle, a bustling port city, or a pantheon of deities? ChatGPT can generate setting details, maps, lore hooks, and plot twists on the fly.
  3. Dynamic NPCs and Dialogue Rather than flat stat blocks, NPCs driven by ChatGPT can have unique voices, motives, and quirks—and can react organically to your players’ choices.
  4. Rule Clarification and Reference Unsure about a rule or spell effect? ChatGPT can look up or summarize the rules in seconds, keeping the game flowing without endless rulebook page‑flipping.
  5. Customized Adventure Paths You decide the themes, tone, or genre—high fantasy, horror, political intrigue—and ChatGPT tailors encounters, puzzles, and story arcs to fit.
  6. Practice and Learning Tool New to role‑playing or the D&D ruleset? ChatGPT can guide you through character creation, teach you mechanics as you go, and even role‑play sample encounters.
  7. Solo and Co‑Op Play If you don’t have a regular group, you can still enjoy a rich D&D experience—either going it alone or teaming up with friends asynchronously via chat.
  8. Rapid Iteration and Experimentation Want to test a homebrew class or a weird encounter? ChatGPT lets you prototype ideas instantly, tweaking stats or narrative beats until it feels right.
  9. Cost‑Effective No need for paid virtual tabletops, professional module books, or hiring a DM—just fire up ChatGPT and start adventuring.
  10. Creative Inspiration Stuck for ideas? Even if you ultimately want to run your own campaign, bouncing ideas off ChatGPT can spark unexpected story beats, memorable villains, or clever traps.
Whether you’re looking for convenience, creativity, or just a bit of extra DM backup, ChatGPT can be your on‑demand D&D companion—ready to roll initiative whenever you are.
