Preamble

This is the 2nd post of a series of seven posts. You need tools for opting out of the fiat world. Although you might say this is a baby step versus completely opting out entirely.
Therefore, below is the ranking of choices one should consider when getting ready to buy something.
  1. Avoid using dollars, banks, VISA.
  2. Pay in cash to avoid supporting companies like VISA
  3. Use one of the following companies to help one acquire gift cards and prepaid cards:
    1. The Bitcoin Company
    2. Bitrefill
    3. Cake Pay
    4. Coincards
    5. COINSBEE
    6. Stealths
    7. Trocador

Recommendations:

  • Avoid using apps when possible and use a privacy preserving browser instead.
    1. Tor Browser
    2. Librewolf/IronFox/Vanadium/Brave/Mullvad + VPN
  • Use a pseudonym rather than your real name.
  • Use a unique or disposable email rather than your doxxed email address.
  • DO NOT give out your home address but rather use a PO Box if you need to take delivery of a physical pre-paid VISA card.

Bitrefill

Bitrefill is a leading crypto e-commerce store that allows users to 'Live on Crypto' by purchasing digital gift cards, eSIMs, and phone refills with Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies. We also offer bill payment services in specific countries and plan to expand this service to more locations in the future.

Details

  • Website
  • Bitcoin and LN Bitcoin both available.
  • No onion link availability
  • Mobile App
  • Account. Generally speaking avoid making an account if you can. I used Tor Browser and ordered a pre-paid VISA card (USA) and sent to a PO BOX and did not create an account.
  • It seems the US is one of the few countries that has the killer feature of having a physical and virtual VISA card (up to $500) which is the main way I'd want to use it.

How gift cards work

  1. Enter the amount
  2. Pay with any payment method
  3. Redeem card at retailer per their instructions.

Prepaid phones

I focused on gift cards, but for the US, there were 36 options for buying prepaid phone or data. This may be the case for other countries too.

FAQ

ordered a pre-paid VISA card
So you are LITERALLY going back to fiat, not forward to Bitcoin. By ordering a VISA card you are literally creating more fiat money from thin air. You are sustaining the evil fiat system not destroying it. THIS IS NOT ADOPTION.
reply
I'd prefer laughing in deutsch.

How do I say "yawn" in Spanish?

reply
Yes, bitrefill works perfectly fine. It can as well be used for airtime topups around the globe and in the case of failed transactions, refunds are ASAP.
