This is the biggest attack on Bitcoin I have ever seen based on fear alone. They only have to convince you the threat is real. Go study the physics of bitcoin; centralized quantum computing is complete bullshit. There is no second best.
Instead of permanently burning or freezing dormant coins after a mandatory deadline, implement a "conditional auto-migration" approach, enabling owners to reclaim funds indefinitely, but only via a forced quantum-resistant migration transaction at withdrawal time.
For real though, lost keys are a treasure hunt for future compute development and innovation. If we just allow that to happen, we will all be better off as it creates a bounty for Quantum development. The bitcoin bounty is a force that moves humans toward the future.
