Bonobos may combine words in ways previously thought unique to humans

So apparently bonobos are out here stringing their calls together in ways we thought only humans could. 

That “yelp-grunt” combo they use to mean “let’s do what I’m doing” is basically what my mates say when they’re trying to get me to join in on their nonsense. 

Honestly, if we’re being real, bonobos might have us beat in the whole “getting people to follow along” thing. Imagine they’ve cracked the secret to communication and we’re still over here arguing over text tones and memes.
