Went to see this today with the kids in 4d-3dx and it was pretty good, despite me not understanding all of it (because it was in Bulgarian), but I got enough to enjoy the movie, could follow the plot etc .
will enjoy rewatching in English so I enjoy more of Jack Black's flair.
I'm not a Minecraft player, but by eldest daughter is and she loved it, stuff in 3d is always fun anyway.
the other kids and teens also really seemed to be into it and cheered at the end of the film, so if you have kids that like Minecraft, i'd say it's a guaranteed good time !
Taking the 4 year old to see it tomorrow! So glad to hear that it's good. The last thing we saw at the cinema was sonic 3, and I found it unwatchable, so I am looking forward to seeing this.

I haven't seen the first two, and I love Sonic in general. I'm just over Jim Carrey if I am being completely honest with you.
yeah, he's a big part of it, so if you don't like him, it will ruin the movie a bit
I’ve heard that the movie is like a 2/10 but the movie going experience is 11/10 because it hits on so many key Minecraft references and the audience loves it.
sounds about right. i mean it's no Spielberg epic lol but the kids had a good time and the audience was definitely into it

How did it compare to the Mario movie?
i think i'll have to see it in English before i make a final verdict. i think the Minecraft movie probably appeals to older teens a bit more, and it got more of a pop in the movie theater.
my daughter liked the Minecraft movie the best out of all of them , sonic, Mario etc and she's the target audience
