I had some questions about wallets, @DarthCoin, @k00b.
Do you have to have them on a 24/7/365 server to operate correctly?
Can you make a “cold” wallet and hook it up to SN?
Would you be able to use up all Cowboy Credits before taking Sats?
Would CCs being given be translated into Sats and sent to the wallet?
Could you help me out here before I try making a connection?
In light of @DarthCoin ‘s beautiful meme of the two sides of the bus, I was just wondering if this was worthwhile for me to do.

To receive 24/7 your wallet needs to be online 24/7.
Would you be able to use up all Cowboy Credits before taking Sats?
That's how it currently works.
Would CCs being given be translated into Sats and sent to the wallet?
CCs do not convert to sats. They're like a gift card that you can't trade-in for money. CCs can only be paid to SN. SN tallies the CCs it earns and chooses to pay the exact same amount out as sats through rewards and territory revenue.

Thanks for the info. Perhaps a connection with a Raspberry Pi 24/7 with a wallet would be best.

If you want to be fully self-sovereign, I'd recommend running Start OS on a mini PC and running AlbyHub.
If you want medium self-sovereignty, Alby Cloud will allow you to pay Alby to run a node for you.
If you don't mind storing money with someone else, I'd recommend coinos.
Guides are in the FAQ: https://stacker.news/faq#how-do-i-attach-a-wallet

Again, thank you!

When would you start being a real bitcoiner and read all my guides?

I read the guides, most of them, I think. I guess, that I am just not built to be a maxi.
- If you are not a node runner and know how it works, an attached wallet to your SN account will be a pain in the ass or you will go to custodial, that also will be a pain in the ass. So better just don't do it and use CCs.
- If you are a node runner, Alby Hub is the easiest way to attach with NWC.
- If you are in the middle, you can use Rizful hosted node - the easiest and dumbest way to run a 24/7 simple node. Here is a guide how to use NWC for send/receive: https://rizful.com/docs/connecting-apps#nostr-wallet-connect-send-and-receive

I am not a node runner, but could be if I felt like going maxi.
I was thinking of setting up on a Raspberry Pi running Linux, headless.
From what I am seeing, it looks like being a node runner is a high maintenance task, which I am not into at this time.
Thanks for the CCs forever advice, perhaps selling them at some point would be viable.

If you do not know what are you doing, I suggest to start with Rizful (remote) node.
Read my guide here: #904362 This is the most easy way to start, in just few click with ZERO knowledge.
Then slowly start building your own home machine.

This is where most of stackers do not see the advantage: using CCs is NOT using your valuable sats to post on SN. THAT IS REAL STACKING. Spend your sats wisely.

SN = Pay to post.
