I'm looking into possibilities. The Public Pool app on the Start9 Community Registry might be the easiest method. It is strictly for solo mining, however, so I guess the experience would be similar to CK Pool.
There are other options:
(Very shitcoiny)
(Shitcoiny too, but does it matter for mining software?)
MPOS (Mining Portal Open Source)
(No active development anymore)
If anyone more experience would like to chime in with opinions on these choices, please do.
All this is very convoluted.
I think the thing you'd (ultimately) want is a backend implementation of:
Stratum v2, orDATUMOn an open source pool software.
The trick would be to basically make a ckpool (from memory the most functional open-source pool software I've come across) backend and integrate with either of these sovereign-block-template protocols.
Stratum v2 has from what I glanced a reference implementation, Datum has the gateway implementation, but I'm not aware of an open-source pool software that talks as a backend to that other than Ocean's (proprietary?) software?
What do you think of Public Pool:

Would be my second choice. I have read Seth's guide back when he wrote it, but that's really written for "run your own stratum server, for you". Both
public-poolandckpoolsoftware afaik have no support for either of the sovereignty-enhancing protocols you'd want; i.e the no-effort choices are currently limited to:What was the problem with the OCEAN solution that someone mentioned?
I don't remember the problem that was mentioned. I don't know how it would work, but that would be a really simple solution. Sticking point would be you need CLN and Bolt 12 to get lightning payouts.
I'm sure we could figure that part out. I just remember someone saying that OCEAN allows sub-pools, which sounds like exactly what we're trying to do.
Yes, I don't know much about sub pools on Ocean. I'll check it out.
I used QEEQ for the first time this week. I was shocked (given how it was presented to me originally) how shitcoiny it is. It occurred to me though that if I'm just using bitcoin with it, and other folks are too, eventually they'll just faze unused shitcoiny stuff out. This seems like a similar area.
Remind me, are you hoping to create like a pool as fundraising for sn or just a normal pool that happens to be used be people that also use sn?
I was just thinking a normal community pool, for the reasons stated in this article:

Cool!
