Hey everyone,

So my recently orange-pilled friend's birthday is coming up. I would like to get him a hardware wallet since he doesn't currently have one. He has a chromebook and an iphone. Any suggestion's?

Arman the Parman, has great resources and guides.

Here the guide to the different wallets:

I would give them these guides along with your present. You will see that is not recommended to skip steps as it can frustrate newbies.

To use with an iPhone I think is going to have to be Ledger with Bluetooth connection but it has some concerns as you will be able to read in the guide.

What's the challenge with using a chromebook? Lack of native apps?

Trezor used to run in as a browser extension way back when. Is that not true anymore?

they still offer a web bridge. their kb states ChromeOS is not officially supported, but it should work with Google's webUSB.

Correct. Trezor works with Chrome via WebUSB and it officially supported.

If they have a chromebook and an iPhone, something QR based would probably be best for compatibility. Depending on budget that'd be either a Blockstream Jade ($50) or a Foundation Passport ($260).
