Pretty much every time I presented my dissertation research. I learned to either ask for clarification, say "I need to give that more thought, before answering." or just "That's a good thought, I'll look into it.", or say "I'd love to talk about that more after the presentation."

It's generally a bad idea to try to come up with an answer on the spot, if you don't immediately know it.
