China’s largest fossil fuel power station with molten salt energy storage project in Suzhou, East China’s Anhui Province, completed its main construction on Saturday and moved into the equipment testing phase, China Media Group reported. By using molten salt to store energy by capturing temperature differentials, the system helps stabilize the power grid and balance peak demand with heating needs. It is expected to store approximately 128 million kWh of new energy annually, reducing standard coal consumption by 32,000 metric tons and cutting carbon emissions by around 85,000 tons.
