Scary moment in a dream! An encounter with Jörmungandr (the Norse sea serpent).

"Was diving with a woman called Eve. We were wearing scuba gear, so I only had a knowing that was her without visual confirmation. When it was time to ascend, some huge predatory sea monster appeared (dinosaur/tiamat/Jörmungandr); it had its eyes set on us. We were so deep underwater it would take minutes to surface. Just alone by its presence, its awareness and the depth we were at, it felt like this was an unavoidable death. Though it never came to that point as I woke up."
