In this video, I discuss Jason Calacanis's recent tweet about "building a better Bitcoin" and "restarting the game."
Calacanis has to be one of the most annoying venture guys I have ever come across. I remember watching him in the podcasts in the 2010s and thinking... what a douchebag.
This video breaks down the category mistake Jason is making suggesting tech getting replaced applies to bitcoin.

I too am a J-Cal loather. @gmd is a fan. Although I suspect he mostly appreciates that he's "raw" - which is an admirable thing on the right person.

Haha it's true I liked him before because at some startup sac events a founder was raving about him and how helpful he was.
I've come around to somewhat loathing him however! He's rather annoying and talks too much on the podcast, although I suspect moderating those personalities is more difficult than it seems. I do appreciate his willingness to push back against David Sacks and now be the somewhat contrarian now that the All-in-pod is fully onboard the MAGA / Putin train.
I'm definitely team Palmer Luckey who hilarious hates him with an admirable passion!

Palmer Luckey 's take down of him at his own conference was great.

Really all of that crew annoy me. But he's the worst.

I like him, but as a personality, not as an advisor. Perhaps a reverse JCal index would be profitable.

I'll give him one thing he has the most punchable face of all the all-in guys and that's saying something

Does everyone need to try creating a sh$tcoin before understanding that Bitcoin cannot be recreated?

You think he's doing this because he doesn't get it? I don't. He's a scammer. Period. Dude would lie to anyone to make a buck. He's a slime ball
