Stumpled upon this thread of Christopher Nolans carrying around this silly little portable casio tv:
I find it really silly. It for sure is both worse quality and harder to set the tech up than just an ipad or laptop connected to the station.
But it reminded me of Denis Villeneuves obsession with these silly little directors viewfinders:
It's only a stick to attach the lens to. He can't be bothered to look with his eyes or stand behind the camera man. No, mr artist neeeds to look through the genuine lenses that gets used in the shoot.

People here seem to have a lot of understanding for Villeneuves little viewfinder.
I find it quite quirky as well lol. Consider that it does show the perspective of the focal length and the general lens but does not show the frame size or the look with exposure settings since it's not a full camera.
It is the in between thing between taking a pic with a camera and looking with your eyes. I do find that quirky.
