The Covid-19 pandemic provided the pretext to destroy hundreds of thousands of businesses, padlock churches, close down schools, and effectively place hundreds of millions of Americans under house arrest. Despite all the forced sacrifices, most Americans contracted covid and more than a million were listed as dying from the virus.
COVID was very eye opening to me. First, how inept and/or corrupt our public health officials were. Second, how bad doctors are at actual science. Third, how easily people will give up their freedom, and how easily duped they are by authority figures.

I completely lost faith in health care providers. Unless I have a highly acute medical need, I don't go anywhere near them.

Unpopular opinion...
I'll be honest...I don't believe such statistics, I think the data is not realistic (at least in our country they completely distorted the reality during the virus). I specifically know of a case where the hospital offered money to the relatives of a deceased person (he died in the hospital) to write covid as the cause of death on his medical record.

It made me realize our health care system and public health officials are a total joke and completely beholden to big pharma. Before I always assumed that was a conspiracy theory with a little truth to it. I’ve pretty much lost all faith in our healthcare system.
It also made me realize that big pharma basically owns our media too when every other commercial is for some horrible drug that isn’t much better than the condition it is supposed to treat. We’ll never get honest reporting on the actual effects of the COVID vaccines.
Edit: and the other commercials are for horrible food that will make you sick.

Was at a funeral for one of my fathers friends last week and the topic of Covid and the treatment of people came up. People are still angry about how they were lied to, threatened, and treated like cattle. Plenty of people seem to have put it behind them but some of us will never forget.

I'm amazed how people just put it out of their mind. Now where I live there was breaking news today that a local kid got the measles.
reply
Yeah... its a special kind of dumb. I'm sorry but the hype and nonsense about measles is absurd. There is just a significant portion of the population that should have zero say in anything beyond their day to day activities. These people are so easily manipulated and controlled that NPC is the most kind way I can describe them.
These people would get angry that people aren't in line while being loaded on to box cars. They would complain about the diversity of the government workers transporting them to camps.
