Just try fixing things yourself. Sometimes they're a lot easier than you think.

Paint washing off measuring cups - I had similar problems with my plastic measuring spoons. Couldn't tell if they were teaspoon, half teaspoon, etc. So I rewrote it, with a sharpie. Works fine until it wears off, then do it again...
