Squid Game reminds me of the Games of Thrones. It has captured global attention and imagination. I managed to shield my son from the show, but thanks to his friends who kept talking about it in school, he is very much in the know now. Those YouTube videos showing people re-enacting scenes from Squid Game don’t help either.
But all this has made me realise one thing. Sometimes, when something is hugely popular, it is a strategic move to just make an adaptation or parody of it because people out there will want to consume everything related to it. For someone who likes to be unique and do his own thing, I must say that I’m humbled by how some of these creators must be laughing all the way to the bank. Simply because they caught the wave. 🌊
When do you jump on the bandwagon to capitalise on something?
If you love something so much that you want to make a parody, that's probably the right time to do so.

Good rule of thumb to follow.
I’m just impressed by the energy these YouTubers have out there
