Deebo traded for scraps, Adams released yesterday, now Tyler Lockett and Christian Kirk released today.
Teams overvalued and overpaid veteran WRs and now the market is correcting.
Using sports to illustrate economics is something I wish I was better at. Would love to have more stories up my sleeves like this.

@Undisciplined would be better at that than me. We talked about having a business of sports series of posts in the territory or we can call it the economics of sports. Whatever works. We should get on that.

I'll try to make more of those connections while we record. Sometimes I get caught up in just chatting about sports and forget what giant nerds our audience is made of.

Real football is not PPK Fantasy! 🤣

In general I find most vets with large contracts regardless of position are traded for scraps in recent years (or cut)

If the price is good enough, I may buy one for my portfolio.

These guys are old. J. Jefferson, St. Brown and Chase are still getting/got massive deals. You can’t say this for any pro bowl level WR under the age of 30
reply
Yes, young top 5 guys are still getting paid but WRs are getting old quick these days.

@Undisciplined some say Lockett might land in LV with his former coach. I always like Lockett and JSN a lot more than crybaby DK Metcalf.
reply
I've always liked Lockett, too. I think he'd be a great fit with Bowers and Meyers.
reply
With all these quality veteran guys whose prices are going to be quite reasonable due to so much supply, if Shanahan wastes a first round pick on a WR I might lose my mind. Round 3 or later ok.
reply
Well, Bowers since Meyers is getting traded to the 49ers.
reply
I don't think so. Mayer is on the trade block, but Meyers is sticking around.
reply
Sorry that's who I meant. The TE not the WR.
Mayer, Meyers. I guess its not as bad as having 2 dudes named Jalen Williams on the same team.
