Those aren't even remotely similar situations. The population of the conquered territory is already essentially Russian. Holding it will barely be an inconvenience.
I've never been convinced that they even want to hold the rest of Ukraine, but they can unleash much more destruction upon it than they have already.

I was just thinking about the newly conquered territory, but I don't think they'll have any trouble holding Crimea either.

Ehhh there issue there is that the bridge that they currently have... no one in the West would build.... hell I dont even think China would... the land bridge is under constant threat of bombardment now by Ukraine with the Frankin Sam system... I mean it is quite remarkable what they have done and developed.
Ukraine has the stronger navy in this war and they dont even have any real ships beyond mostly river based designs. Last time I checked they had even reclaimed several oil platforms from the Russians.

I guess we'll just have to see how it all plays out.

Everything is so fluid.... I mean Toretsk is a prime example... Looks like Russia had finally overrun the city and now Ukraine has taken back most/all the vital operating areas and Russia hasnt been able to force its way back.
Kursk is in my opinion pretty funny with the Ukraine strategy.... Every couple of weeks they drive around the Russian positions and attack them from the back quickly overwhelming them and then returning to their lines/kinda expanding the incursion. Then as Russia regroups they fall back to their fortified positions and then do the same thing a couple weeks later.
The lowest numbers ive seen were over 6k casualties of North Korean troops there.... Ukrainian casualties havent been anywhere near that level... the drone footage shows how absolutely insane the NK troops are.
