This reasoning isn't based in reality. There are obvious UX issues with running your own node. ESPECIALLY using something like TailsOS. We're not there, YET.

The message for signing is composed of information already available to the exchange. The address must be sent to the exchange to receive the coins. 2/

I don't think it's even remotely realistic to expect most folks to run TailsOS on an air-gapped computer. It's just not practical.
