I just recently came across Kagi from this post (#899953) and I am in love with one key feature.
I can curate my own search results.
To me, this simple feature is an absolute game changer and something I have wanted for years. This was especially true during covid and all of the search engines were showing biased results. Even DuckDuckGo was filtering "misinformation".
With Kagi, If I want a specific resource to always show first or maybe just higher in the SERP, I can prioritize it. If I don't ever want to see any results from a specific news source like BBC or any site that has a paywall, I can block it entirely and it won't pollute my searches.
I can curate my own personalized echo chamber of sources that I know, like, and trust. If I want toe MSM version of news, I can just use Google and Bing. I have already blocked a bunch of weak sites and prioritized sites like Reddit and Bitcointalk.
I have already pinned Stacker News so if there is a query that is relevant to a SN post, I should see it first in my SERPs but that got me thinking.
How can we make sure that SN posts are being indexed? Naturally, I did a Kagi search and it seems they have a tool called Sidekick. I'm not enough of a dev to know if it's possible but I thought I would at least chime in and see if @k00b could take a closer look to see of we can get SN posts indexed.
I feel like it will take a while for Kagi (a paid search engine) to gain traction and momentum but I thought it I would at least put it out there.
