I think the 49ers are going to prioritize OLine and DLine upgrades in Free Agency. Unless they think they have found their LT (Williams replacement) of the future, I don't see them going OLine early. Their biggest need on the OLine is C and I don't see Kyle letting a rookie C start this year.
DLine early is an option but the draft is very deep for DL and I think they want an Edge to play opposite Bosa so I wouldn't be surprised if they went Edge in round 1. Unless of course they get a veteran Edge in FA.
So I took a bit of a different approach this draft and focused on other needs besides Interior DL and OLine until the later rounds.
I like a lot of the players I got and wouldn't be surprised if the 49ers took a similar approach to this but I would be disappointed. I think it is much easier and cheaper to address their needs at LB, S, TE and even depth CB in FA. I would rather they focus on the trenches in the draft. We will see how it plays out.
I know it's not too related but man 49ers have had so much talent throughout the years. 2 of the best quarterbacks of all time. Best wr, had the 2 best linebacker couple of years straight. Great offenses, defences. They should have way more superbowls hans down but also need luck

5 Super Bowls is among the top teams in the league but they definitely teams good enough to win a couple more and it has been a long drought since they won on. Hopefully 2026!

I agree that's high for TE, LB, S, especially for a team that already has some very good players at those positions. Rounds one and two are a solid approach, though.
Since the Raiders always have tons of cap room, I don't tend to think about that dimensions of the draft, but for the 49ers it makes sense to pinch every penny. Focus on getting premium position guys in the draft and save some money on those rookie deals.

They definitely need a TE2 but can probably get a good blocking TE later in draft. Fannin is just a really good fit for the 49ers. Very versatile. I wouldn't mind a 3rd round pick on a TE but hopefully it is the 99 comp pick and not 75. 49ers met with Loveland, Fannin and Taylor but not Warren.

When are we going to see the first Vikings mock draft @Public_N_M_E?
reply
If I find a moment to pause for breath over the next few weeks, I'll try to get one done for everyone.

Sounds good. We should do the same thing as last year where everyone we each mock one of our teams. That was fun last year.

I really enjoyed doing that.
I've also started to like to mock and fiddle with FA a little. So instead of saying, oh the vikings need this position so I'm gunna have to draft one. I've been setting out scenarios like "signed trey smith" "signed Mike Hilton" "Harrison Smith retires"
And then tryna draft from that position. That's been kinda fun. I got the idea off a vikings youtuber.

Mocks are fun but they are kind of pointless until after FA. I still do them regardless.

It's been mad last couple of weeks.
