High inflation spurred Donald Trump’s defeat of Kamala Harris last November. The economy was the top issue for most voters, and inflation was the top economic issue. As Biden’s partner in economic crime, Harris could not escape the blame for the torpedoing of the dollar’s value in recent years.
Inflation occurs when the government prints excessive currency, resulting in more money chasing the same amount of goods and services. Nobel Laureate economist Friedrich Hayek wrote, “Inflation is never an unavoidable natural disaster; it is always the result of the weakness or ignorance of those in charge of monetary policy.” As economist Per Bylund observed, “Inflation is money losing its purchasing power.” Government is the premier profiteer of inflation, providing politicians with “free” money to spend while systematically defaulting on any debts government promised to pay….
When Kamala Harris signaled that she would likely continue Biden’s policies across the board, voters recognized that she had learned nothing from Biden’s debacles. The Harris campaign believed that perpetually championing the right to abortion would guarantee them more than enough votes from women. But it turned out that “women buy milk and eggs more often than they get abortions.”
A century ago, Americans clearly recognized the moral implications of inflation. Vice President Calvin Coolidge bluntly declared in 1922: “Inflation is repudiation.” But it remains to be seen whether the inflationary torrent of recent years will awaken Americans to the folly of trusting Washington to not sabotage their personal independence or the nation’s prosperity.
The politicians will never learn about inflation. They are blinded by their blinders of the mental tunnel vision. MMT will never, never do anything but cause the problems we find ourselves in at this moment. Bi-Den made the mistake of following the advice of the MMT mad economists and got us into this mess. Handing out helicopter money did not help anyone but insured the transfer of trillions to the upper 1%. Thank you Joe, as Barry said, you could f* up a wet dream, and you did.
Statists have always seized on whatever fringe theory best justifies their behavior. That's how Keynesianism caught on over a hundred years ago.
It's not that they believe the MMT'ers (they couldn't care less), it's just that MMT offers cover for what they were going to do either way.

Yes, I agree, they want the money and the resources and they don’t care how they get them. I think the cover that they have been getting lately is fairly translucent and ephemeral! Anyway, it is getting ripped off of them and torn to shreds in the current atmosphere.
I just love seeing people talking about all of the extremely wealthy representatives and senators that got that way only after assuming office. I can’t wait to see what consequences we will be seeing for them. Yes, yes, there will be a feast of consequences for many people politicians and power brokers.

What a time to be alive!

I think it is a great time to be alive! I want to see the times through about 10 years to see all the changes from people waking up to reality, the real reality, not the veil that has been pulled over our eyes. I am of the opinion that there will be huge changes, in the economies of the world, education and abilities of all the people. We might even escape from the clutches of the ELites that are trying their best to adjust the population to suit them.

I share that expectation.
