What is the benefit for doing this?
You build your own block templates without relying on the pool. Meaning you decide which transactions get mined.
Ahh okay lotto mining?
No, you still mine with the Ocean Pool. But you get to decide which transactions go in the block in the rare case that you hit a block.
Ahh gotcha I’m using the default pool
not that it would matter much with 1 bitaxe, but when miners use DATUM and construct their own block template, they get 1% off pool fees vs. mining with Ocean's defaults.
