??? I'm not calling all Ukrainians nazis. The Azov brigade seems particularly egregious. I'm just pointing out that the AfD is being painted unfairly in the German press as nazis.
I'm not calling all Ukrainians nazis.
AfD is looking to deny german support for Ukrainian nazis.
I am confused. Because German support to Ukraine goes to the entire Ukrainian people, from heavy military equipment to the last humanitarian help.

I was thinking of the Azov brigade. It was an overstatement on my part. My point was that I see hypocrisy. As @kepford pointed out, we probably shouldn't even use the word nazi. The hypocrisy isn't just AfD, Azov. It's listening to German prosecutors say people should be imprisoned for saying things on the internet. Call it nazi, fascist, communist, whatever. They use authoritianism to protect citizens against authoritarianism? The irony is ridiculous.

The Azov brigade doesn’t exist anymore.

I don’t have a strong opinion on this one. Germany has its history with nazism, social nationalism, whatever we call it. As a way out, they came with laws punishing people for showing nazis symbols, symbols of unconstitutional organizations in general. Is that right or wrong? Is it outdated? Anyway, it exists. People don’t get imprisoned for saying things that are not against the law. You can debate about the laws itself. I am also pro free speech, on the other hand I am not a free speech absolutist.

I hope not! That doesn't make me feel better.
I am not a free speech absolutist.
So what speech should be criminalized?
reply
Well, an example that comes to my mind is a stacker threatening other stackers to kill them and eliminate them. He wanted to kill my wife and my kids, as well as eliminate others. Not sure it should be criminalized but at least this person should not be on the platform anymore.

I think we pretty much agree then. But how do you explain this:
In September, a criminal investigation was opened into a German citizen who called politician Ricarda Lang fat on Gab. Under Section 185 of the German Criminal Code, that individual could serve up to a year in prison.
Do you see how ridiculous it might appear to outside observers for government prosecutors to say this, then accuse a political party of being nazis for supposedly displaying a symbol?
Unfairly? Really?
So the links you posted, I didn’t check them all, are about the Azov brigade then?

Here's my point. The world recognized there is a Nazi element in Ukraine as recently as the early 2020s. That stopped after Putin's invasion(btw-I hate him). The western press denies this, despite obvious nazi symbols on uniforms, anti semitic acts, etc. The AfD, with far less evidence, are decreed nazis to help ensure the status quo remains in the EU.

I assume you still have the Azov brigade in mind. But I guess you also know that this brigade played an important role in the Mariupol's defense during the siege in 2022. Most soldiers killed. The soldiers who survived were integrated into the official units of the Ukrainian army. None of them wears any nazi symbols on uniforms. The individuals may still be or think like nazis, but this doesn’t make the Ukrainian army nor the Ukrainian people nazis.
The western press denies this
What are your expectations? That every fucking article will mention the Azov brigade. This is beyond ridiculous.

False. There is so much evidence from the early days of AfD. They have changed the language over the years indeed, to be became acceptable for bigger masses, but it’s still the same people.
