They are right about this. The coalition built by Trump is very different from the first Trump admin. This is also true of his supporters. It is fun to what the progressive left remain mostly clueless about how Trump won. Their movement has alienated a large group of people. I have met many of them. People that were Kennedy or Tulsi supporters. People from the left that hate big pharma and the warfare establishment. They aren't conservatives but they voted for Trump.
The Republican party died and Trump built a new party. In 2016 I remember doubting he'd be allowed to gain power but he surprised me.
The point about bitcoiners building wealth which increases influence that is spot on. I've been saying this for a while. Bitcoiners don't need to whore themselves out to politicians. The politicians will come begging us for our support.
Now, I don't think we have some libertarian dream world around the corner. Its not gonna come from the top down. Yeah, there are positive changes happening but these changes are only really happening because Trump realized how popular many of these ideas have become. But, they aren't so popular that both parties are on board.
The core issues are still the religious believe in the state. The idea that the government needs to balance the scales. We haven't suddenly turned into a liberty and self-sovereign population. Its not game over for the state or for liberty.
Keep holding to your core beliefs. Don't compromise. Stay humble and stack sats. Wealth is a key to liberty.

I'm hoping for a positive feedback loop here. A veritable runaway freedom effect.

That's what I'm hoping for too. Here's my thoughts.
Conservatives typically are not open to the ideas of liberty unless they directly benefit from them. They love government spending and regulation in areas that they care about. They are hypocrites. Most that I talk to have much in common with my views but they don't look at things logically or from the perspective of finding common ground with the left. Like the left, they are delusional in thinking they can just use force forever to wield power over those that don't agree with them.
But, because of how they have been programmed to follow authority leadership in their party they are open to being re-programmed by someone like Trump or Vance. I have been listening to local conservative radio lately to get a feel for where they are at. Its wild to listen to these conservatives that used to disagree with Trump on various topics shift to his current position.
The Overton window is moving in a positive direction towards liberty. There are still plenty of logical issues and hypocrisies but its the most positive change I have ever seen. The moves that DOGE is making is forcing conversations that were easily avoided in the past. It is forcing people to consider just how massively out of control the government has become. Things you and I are not surprised by.
I also think Trump is getting credit for the work of the liberty movement and that's OK. A ton of the things going one now in Trump's admin are things Ron Paul said he would do. Sure, Trump is no Ron Paul. He's a crook and hypocrite but his advisors and handlers are highly influenced by the ideas Paul championed. Paul never won but his integrity and steadfastness to the ideals he believes in influence many in the US and we are seeing the fruit of his work.
I'm not saying, we need to get out and vote and register as Republicans. I'm not doing that. Nothing I believe has changed. I'm just watching things unfold. Bitcoin is a part of this. The ideas of liberty are a part of it to. Its bullish. Its not the time to compromise though. Don't excuse Trump when he's wrong. Don't start putting your hope in the state. Instead focus on being consistent and even handed. Dunking on people feels good but the number of people that believe in liberty needs to grow and those of us that believe this need to build our wealth and influence. Bitcoin is a massive part of that.

The only thing I disagree with is that Ron Paul didn't win. I think this is what a Ron Paul victory looks like. He was always aiming to change how people viewed the state and it's starting to look like he may have succeeded.

Agreed. If you look historically, Barry Goldwater was the Ron Paul of the 60s....that Goldwater movement had die hard supporters, but the public at-large was easily swayed against Goldwaters positions....about 15 years later a charismatic politician came along who rebranded lots of the essential ideas, his name was Ronald Reagan.
There are lots of similarities between the Goldwater -> Reagan and Paul -> Trump evolution. Its probably just the way the revolutionary changes happen that the messenger seldom is the one who implements the message.

Reagan defeated 2 term incumbent in 1966 to become governor of CA
Milton Friedman was another beneficiary of Goldwater's campaign. His profile with the media and Republican circles increased, he became the de facto economic advisor of every R president from Nixon to Ford to Reagan, 1964 to 1988

Reagan defeated Pat Brown for governor in 1966
Pat Brown was a good governor for CA
That's a really interesting connection. In both cases, it was foreign policy positions that were used to scare supporters away (although, for diametrically opposite reasons).

I only meant he didn't win nominations.

I know, but that also wasn't exactly the game he was playing.
