Are you good at balancing on a normal bike? I just feel this might tax a lot of abdominal muscles. I could be wrong, though.

You're not balancing this yourself. It has Segway-like self-orientation.

Still need to hold on especially when you are at speed. All ab, leg, and arm muscle there.
