I have serious doubts that spending will be cut in a meaningful way long term.
It might be cut in a meaningful way in the medium term, though. Some of what they're doing will take time to undo: selling off federal office space, for instance, means bloating back up will require a lengthy procurement process.

Yea, I'm hopeful thst we can increase productivity at least while the spending is lowered.

I'm expecting productivity increases. A bunch of distortions are being yanked out of the economy, by cutting all of these political subsidies, plus about a hundred thousand former federal workers are entering the labor force.

I actually have a fool proof way to stop the train.
Everyone loves kittens, so we just have to put 1000's of kittens on the train track.
Worst case, kitten blood is pretty slippery, maybe the train will get derailed if it doesn't stop.
