Greatings from Scandinavia, this is what we do during winter:

I actually live in the countryside along one of these roads. Imagine a still winter night—cold, dark, and silent—when suddenly, you hear one of these comes roaring through the forest, the driver having the time of his life!

reply

Man I need to visit Scandinavia soon, I've always wanted to see the northern lights and the Norwegian fjords.

reply

I'd say go for the fjords during late spring. The fjords are much more impressive in IRL. Instagram photos of northern light are usually overexposed, the light isn't that strong. You also need to be lucky with solar activity and travel to a place without lightpolution.

reply

Yeah, I wanted to do Iceland for the lights, I was out of the country when the UK got them 🤦. But the fjords are a bucket list item for me. My wife and I love hiking and we want to hike some of them.

Plus music wise, Scandinavia has some of the best bands. Nightwish, Epica, Sonata Arctica, Delain, the list goes on. Children of Bodom (RIP Alexi 🫡)

If you're into fjords and metal you should look up one of the many branches of Scandinavian metal; sognametal, named after the biggest fjord Sognefjorden. Bands like Windir and Vreid.

If you like hiking you should definitely try skiing especially when there is full moon. It's an truelly unique experience.

reply

I've only tried to ski once and I didn't manage to stay upright at all 🤣🤣 I'll definitely give those bands a go.

Good morning stackers!

Not heard these before. Good old dark strange metal, really interesting and really odd 🤣

reply

💯 Certainly has a weird experimental darkness to it. The percussions are so strange. The bass so intrusive. Yet with a weirdly haunting optimistic melody.

I've always found Jeffrey Nothing's voice distinctly sinister.

reply

Sinister is the exact word, but in like a really good way somehow.

Just watched Bob Dylans biopic.
Not impressed.

reply

I've not seen it, but I guess that's you telling me not to waste my time 🤣🤣. Brilliant artist though.

reply

His accent is so bad.
Its like he mumbles through most of the movie.

Too much surgery and/or drugs.

Really easy to listen to, nice song.

Editors - Papillon

Very Depeche Mode sound. I really like it.

I appreciate Rush far more now than I used to. Really clever musicians, their song construction is really technical.
