Not "yours" in the sense that you own it. "Yours" in the sense of "your captors"
Who is this government?
A person, a living man, a group of people ?
Do you have any contract /agreement with him/them ?
How did you end up being captured by them?
I think of the State as a metacognative entity, with its own cognition. The humans it is made of are replaceable, like skin cells.
They are a criminal organizations that uses force to extort money and opress a population.
Nobody has a contract or agreement with them and if they do "pray that they don't alter it further"
So if you do not have any contractual obligation, why do you still obey them ?
Why do you seek their authority, by saying "is it legal... X or Y ? "
The reason I asked is because I hoped people would have a strong opinion about and enjoy discussing it. My personal opinion on the government is to minimize my interactions with them as much as possible. Despite their authority being an illusion, their threat of force is very real.
If you fear them - they control you. If they control you, then you are their slave.
Are you a slave?
Yup. I don't currently have a way around that.
But why do you have to avoid the government?
Avoiding means you agree with them but do not want to respect their rules. That is breach of contract and you will pay the consequences.
Why not confront it and rebut its authority?
If you accept them as your master, then you deserve your faith to be a slave.
A gov authority is so easy to rebut, but very few dare to do it. I don't know why people are so cowardice nowadays?
Is a government "yours" ? Is your property?
