I went to the doctor this morning. According to the data they received from the modem connected to my machine, my CPAP is working. Supposedly I would stop breathing about 30 times during the night pre magic machine. Now I stop breathing less than once per night. I say supposedly, because I'm not sure I buy the whole thing.
What is true, though, is that I no longer keep my wife up with my snoring. I think I would stop breathing in the past because of the pillow she was holding over my face.

I doubt you ever told her that you are writing on SN. If you did, be ready for two pillows over your face tonight.
BTW, I've never known that such machines and methods existed.

A friend of mine went keto (not carnivore, like I am) and stopped snoring within 3 weeks. This was with a weight loss of maybe 10 pounds from the keto, so not even a ton of weight.
Apparently with snoring, it's also the inflammation caused by carbs that can cause problems.
That might be an option, if you don't want to continue with the CPAP.

I often tape my mouth at night. It forces me to breathe with the nose, which is highly desirable, and is effective against snoring and sleep apnoea. My wife was initially sceptical, but she's now enjoying quieter nights :-)

My doctor wanted me to get a mouth and nose mask. My CPAP technician convinced me just to get a nose mask. He said everyone thinks they need to breathe out of their mouth, but he suggested I would quickly get used to sleeping with my mouth shut. I was doubtful, but he was right. What you're doing is very beneficial. The only thing you're not getting, I guess, is the air being forced into your nostrils. You might not need that anyway.

If it passes the wife test then it’s working!!

A friend of mine got one a couple years ago and he swears by it. Says he sleeps so much better since getting it.

It's true. I liked it from the first night. I sleep longer and much more soundly than I used to.

She was able adapt to the sound of the machine? Or when you shift in sleep, and that ribbed tube rubs against the headboard?

The machine is very quiet, at least to us. We're both losing our hearing gradually too!
