Bitcoiners verify everything—why should your health be any different? Your body is your proof of work. Just like you wouldn’t outsource your private keys, don’t blindly trust a system designed to keep you dependent.
The good news? You don’t have to.
Doctors no longer have sole control over lab work. You can order your own and reclaim sovereignty over your health. But without a solid foundation, lab results can seem overwhelming. This guide breaks it down so you can assess your metabolic health before the fiat medical system turns you into a lifelong customer.
Where to Order Lab Work
If your doctor refuses or won’t run deeper panels, you still have options. In the U.S., online providers let you order tests without approval. Visit a local lab, submit samples, and get results online. Some states gatekeep this, so verify your options.
Insurance likely won’t cover self-ordered tests, but ask yourself—what’s more costly? A few hundred dollars for proactive monitoring or thousands on preventable medical interventions? Bitcoiners understand low time preference. Invest in your future self.
Essential Lab Tests
Not all tests are useful. Some are outdated or misleading. Focus on what truly matters:
  • CMP & CBC – Kidney, liver, electrolyte balance, immune function
  • Vitamin D & B12 – Energy, hormone regulation, cognitive health
  • CRP & Fasting Insulin – Inflammation & metabolic health markers
  • Advanced Lipid Panel – A deeper look beyond basic cholesterol
For most, yearly testing is enough. If recovering from metabolic dysfunction, check every 4-6 months.
Understanding Your Results
Lab reports come with reference ranges, but: Different labs use different standards.
"Normal" ≠ Optimal—most ranges reflect an unhealthy population.
Context matters—high HDL is good, but high LDL & triglycerides + inflammation? That’s an early warning sign.
Fiat health metrics are like CPI—flawed and misleading. If you want truth, dig deeper.
Take Back Your Health.
Reading your lab work is self-sovereignty. Traditional doctors might dismiss your concerns or push meds, but I help Bitcoiners optimize health based on real data.

Oh man is this ever important. So many people basically just trust the medical system and I've seen them get burned over and over. Even just asking basic questions about what is being suggested can drastically alter your life in a positive way. Having friends and family in the medical system has made me less trusting of the system over the years. Ask lots of questions. Educate yourself. Do not just do what the Doc says. Don't assume they are evil or anything but they need to explain stuff in a way where you can make informed decisions. If your doctor gets all bent out of shape when you ask questions or push back get a new doctor. If I have a doc act like that I dump them. I can't trust them if they can't be bothered to explain things to me.

So many times people show up to the pharmacy counter and they have no idea which medications they are being started on or what they are supposed to do.
On top of that, they were not told which therapeutic lifestyle modifications would make the medications in future doctor visits less frequent.
Over the years I've counselee a few people on practical things that they can do. A select few have came back And they're prescriber had taken them off of high blood pressure, cholesterol, and prediabetes medications because of the education I provided that they took action on.
Once I saw the impact I could have on people that wanted to implement on knowledge that I have, I decided to start Proof of Work Fitness.
I always advise patients that they have to be their own health advocate.

The system is not designed for health but for prescribing drugs and expensive treatments. Not for prevention and whole life health.
On the pharmacy thing... I RARELY take any medications but I always talk to both the doc and the pharmacist about the medications. I think people don't understand what a resource a good pharmacist can be. This is really basic stuff that takes very little effort but we are trained to be passive and trust authority figures instead of equip ourselves and view these people as resources that can teach us. People submit instead of partnering with them.

I'm glad to see you mention sleep in your booklet because I believe it's not always given enough credit.

Sleep is something that is often overlooked while people tried to optimize for other things.
People are having low testosterone, problems with always feeling hungry, low energy, or anxious and will take medications for it before they Make a diligent effort to be disciplined about sleep hygiene.
Avoiding caffeine and alcohol within 8 hours of bedtime is a big one
Keeping the room at 65° f
Blackout blinds and noise canceling headphones
Stretching immediately before bed
Those are some things that I do but there are more things to be aware of if you Google the term "sleep hygiene".

What are Stackers dealing with on the day to day?
Are you using a lot of willpower just trying not to overeat on the fiat foods in the drive throughs and grocery stores or are you cooking mostly whole foods and just trying to optimize your fitness routine that gets results with the least time invested as possible?
I haven't been going to as many bitcoin meetups as I used to because my business growing but I miss interacting with my bitcoin people so I will probably be posting here more often.
