Its truly shocking but honestly... we should not be surprised. Centralized systems with little to no incentive to do a good job and no incentive towards accountability will end in massive waste and abuse. IMO if you are giving money out you will always have some sort of waste and abuse but when it is a massive federal agency it will just be on a much more massive scale.
I get push back from some of my Christian brethren about privatizing charity. They don't believe people will be cared for. I disagree but more importantly people will get actual help from many different sources instead of the state who creates dependency and enables theft.

Its pretty infuriating to know that the State (a) by directly taking ~30% of all productive peoples income, and (b) in concert with constant money printing has effectively brought an end to most meaningful private charity.
The average person doesn't has the financial resources to give anymore. They're already effectively giving ~50% away via direct & indirect taxes + inflation.
To make matters worse, the money stolen was simply wasted on a grand scale - not even helping the people the claimed all this was for....
You can see the results on the streets of any major city. When you see the drugged out zombies living on the street you are physically seeing this result (ie. a hollowed out private charity capacity stripped bare by a kleptocracy)

Honestly, my reaction wasn't shock. Rather that it is likely to shock others to be clear. At this point I'm not sure I'm capable of being shocked by Trump's people uncovering stuff. I would describe myself as numb to it.
I mean... it would shock me if the US really did decrease overall spending and eliminated the income tax. The theft, malice, and abuse doesn't shock me anymore. Covid really re-framed my view to even more of a negative view of the state and those in power. I was already opposed to the state but underestimated just how bad it was and how gullible the public can be.
I've landed on the position that these gullible people aren't statistically important. Of course they are as humans but they are like ballast. They just float with the trends. Trying to "win" them over is a complete waste.

"Shock", and maybe even "surprise", aren't quite the right words. My point is that there's something really deeply meaningful to people like us being overly generous, if anything, towards the extent of state abuses.
We must be more anti-state than 99.9% of the population and the revelations go beyond what even we thought was happening (at least they do for me).

Imagine being so invested in your politics to be angry about this. That is wild to watch and confirms so much of what I've believed for years.
The next ten years are gonna be interesting. How far will the exposure and cuts go? Will they stick? I don't think they will stick. Either way if you are a politically homeless you have a better chance of avoiding the psyops.

"Will they stick?" is a fascinating question. In a way, I also think they won't. I don't sense any receptiveness to any of this information from the normies I know.
However, I think the country might be fundamentally changed after the revelations (and corresponding cuts). It's looking like the entire perversity of the modern left might have been fake the whole time.

I hope so. I think the Overton window could be shifting. I think the Covid response shifted it to some extent but I suspect it is still shifting. The exposure of things that were hidden opens many doors.

I'm talking about how seemingly every protest, NGO, celebrity, and media outlet pushing woke leftism was being paid to do so by USAID. Who knows what else they're going to find as they keep digging.

Ah! I see. I haven't been following it closely enough to agree with you but it would not surprise me. I will say this. I was a bit surprised recently by adjustments I've seen. Subtle changes in language and behavior in some corporations. They aren't admitting what is going on but its pretty obvious to me and especially the woke left people complaining about it.
I think most people don't care much either way. They just wanna get along and be successful and were going along for those reasons. The issue is being forced so now they are adjusting. Its all very interesting and its really interesting how much of this stuff was funded by stolen tax payers money.
